About Us

Franktronics, Inc

Founded in 2002

Franktronics was founded in 2002 by Frank Farmer and was incorporated in January 2005.  Franktronics was initially founded on the need of consumers, from the home user to the mid-sized business owner, who needed a reliable company to perform quality services at reasonable prices.

Frank Farmer began his career in 1985 working at NASA on a two year contract in the LASER spectroscopy department.  He later joined the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) where he ran the electronics lab for the physical oceanography department for 10 years. He specialized in designing and building underwater computer systems which recorded data from various sensors.
He then became Director of Maritime Communications at International Communications Group (ICG). During his tenure with ICG, the company’s revenues tripled. Mr. Farmer left ICG in early 2002 to start Franktronics.

Maritime Communications Line

In January of 2005, Franktronics, Inc took control of the maritime telecommunications product line from International Communications Group (ICG). Frank Farmer was one of the original developers of the ProCas and MX-2000 satellite call switching phone systems. He also hired Frank Yarina, a previous co-worker from ICG who was trained by Mr. Farmer and has extensive experience with the installation and maintenance of the maritime line.  In 2007, Franktronics began installing the new Franktronics Communications System (FCS) – a completely new call switching system utilizing modern, state of the art telephony boards and a unique client-server approach allowing remote management.
